Using a Deep Learning Neural Network trained on the image.net dataset, Image.gen is a collage of short video loops of interpolations between one neuron’s maximum activation and a random input image. The loops visualize the networks process of sculpting the input to match an individual neurons visual preferences and memories.

Image.gen was among the winning artworks of the Niio x AI Art prize 2020 alongside works by Jakob Kudsk Steensen, Kris Kore, Pascual Sisto, and Eyal Gruss and premiered as a 4K videoinstallation at HEVRE Krakow as part of the exhibition Elementi 8: EKRAN - HEVRExINTERMEDIA in March 2020.
